Increase your readership and engage with your audience

Increase your readership. By using the ZapTXT notification platform via the ZapTXT buttons (see right panel) on your website your readers can be notified whenever you update your site or topics of interest show up or when new comments are added. Better still, they don't need an RSS reader to view it: a ZapTXT alert can be sent via email, Instant Messenger, Skype or SMS text.

Engage your readers. By providing your readers with a better way to know what you're publishing, you can develop a closer relationship with them. ZapTXT can monitor any RSS-enabled feed, including comments, so you can ensure your readers are engaged on the topics that interest them for as long as the conversation on that topic continues.

Measure usage. ZapTXT exposes its usage for a given site to Feedburner so you can always see how many users are monitoring your site via our service.

Understand your readers. Contact us ( ) and we'll gladly send you monthly statistics. ZapTXT can tell you:
  • What searches were done on your content, in aggregate.
  • How many times user-defined searches matched your editorial content.
  • What types of content are so important to some readers that they've elected to receive a TXT message alert whenever it is mentioned on your site - in your posts and even in comments made by other readers.
We plan to have an automated system for this very soon.

How it works

  • If you publish a blog or an RSS-enabled website, just add the ZapTXT buttons to your site.
  • Your readers use one of our opt-in notification mechanisms to stay abreast of site updates.
  • We send them an alert when we find a match. They receive a Headline and a Link back to your site to consume the article or blog post.

Sounds great! Any gotchas?

  • If you use Word Press, Typepad or Blogger as your blog software, no restrictions. Add the code and you're good to go.
  • If you have a custom built blog, you may need to check a few things:
    • Make sure you have a valid feed by visiting feedvalidator.org.
    • Your feed needs to have a date and time element so we know if a post you wrote is new, to trigger an alert.
    • You need to have RSS auto discovery enabled.
